Eské Studio took on the full interior scope of a ground-up custom home in Lahontan, one of Truckee's private golf communities. Lahontan is a private, gated community in Martis Valley, Truckee, set within 906 acres of Sierra Nevada pine forest and built around a Tom Weiskopf championship golf course. Homes here are custom built, architecturally considered, and designed to live in harmony with the landscape. It's where this project is rooted, and it shaped every decision we made from the ground up.
Eské Studio led the full interior scope on this project, working alongside California Home Builders, our construction partner, who delivered the ground-up build. The home is 5,000 square feet, five bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, situated on the golf course. From the first drawing, the design direction was clear: mountain elegance with modern lines, natural materials throughout, built for the way people actually use a mountain home.
Shimen Krek, CEO and Co-Founder of Eské Studio, led the interior design and fabrication scope. White oak cabinetry and flooring run throughout the home, grounding every room in warmth and consistency. Vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams open the spaces upward, letting the scale of the architecture breathe. In the kitchen, textured Taj Mahal quartzite countertops bring a quiet luxury that works with the natural palette rather than against it. Every surface fabricated in our San Jose workshop, built to the standard this home and this community demand.
The living spaces were designed with cozy winter gatherings in mind. Fond du Lac Rustic limestone surrounds the fireplace, paired with a dark brick herringbone hearth. White oak paneled ceilings and a matching mantel carry the material language of the rest of the home into the room's focal point. The result is a space that feels rooted in the mountain setting while delivering every expectation of a refined interior.
This is a first look. A full case study with complete material specifications, process details, and photography is coming soon.
